So I suspected that Drew would propose in Cabo as he had already mentioned that "I don't want to propose just anywhere, it has to be special" and we had this trip on the calendar. We arrived in Cabo on Thursday and had a beautiful evening walking around the resort property and getting help from and befriending Danny--the head waiter on site.
Friday morning Drew put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door and said that he didn't want the maids to come in. I didn't realize it at the time but he had hidden the ring in the room and didn't want to chance having the maid find and/or take it:) Could not take the chance.. after getting the ring home, packed in luggage, through security, on the plane, never letting the bag out of sight.. to have it found in the room, she was way too important-- this had to be special.
Friday came and went, played on the beach, in the ocean, ran all over the grounds, working out together at the gym. we had a beautiful dinner on a patio and enjoyed a glass (or two) of wine but the evening came and went without a proposal.
Saturday was even better, Drew kept making comments about it being a "great day" as well as feeling a little stressed out. Other than him putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign up again that morning, I was still clueless. Later in the evening, we had another awesome dinner at the same restaurant/patio (as it was so good the night before) and Drew asked me about where I thought my favorite place/location was on the resort (in hindsight I can see now that he was looking for a proposal location). The resort had also gotten busier that day and there were more people around and so as we walked around after dinner, chatting with Danny a few times, we were never really anywhere private/by ourselves. As we started to walk up to our room, we decided to walk out on a 3rd floor patio which overlooked the resort (the picture of the patio and view are seen here). I was looking out/over the balcony and Drew started talking and I remember asked him "what are you talking about?" as I turned to face him and found him on one knee proposing to me!
He put the most beautiful ring on my finger and I, of course, said "yes"!! |
