For those of you who don't know the story here it is...

Darren arranged everything, I knew he had the ring but it was a total surprise when he popped the question.

We were in London celebrating my 30th/our anniversary (9 years together) we had a full packed weekend planned including visits to madam tussauds and the shrek adventure. A lovely romantic dinner booked at Marco Pierre Whites steak house and a rib ride along the thames.

We had just got off the tube and were walking to the jetty to do the rib ride when I get a call from the rib company telling me that the ride was being postponed due to low fog. They wanted us to come back a couple hours later or the next day, we had other things planned so my reaction was to cancel the ride and get our money back to save hanging about for a couple hours. Darren didn't like the sound of this (little did I know he had a big surprise planned) he convinced me to come back later that day.

We arrive later that day for our ride, the boat was running 20 minutes late and there were no staff to greet us or explain what was happening, at this point I've had enough and am ready to leave. Again Darren needs to talk me round, "we're here now let's just wait"

And boy am I glad we did, the rib ride was great fun and as we approached the jetty at the end of the ride I see the kids and everyone there to greet us, I missed the 5foot banner so in my mind I'm thinking isn't that nice they've come to see me and got me flowers for my birthday. Then I turn to Darren and he's got a gorgeous ring in his hand and he's popping the question. The rest is a bit of a blur but thanks to the quick thinking from the rib ride announcer who manages to snap a couple pictures of the moment and of course our very talented in house photographer, Mr Garry Simpson, we have some great pictures to remember the day by
