Welcome

I moved to Dallas in February 2010 from California to take a job with Tyler Technologies. Even though I was born and raised 2 hours north of Dallas, I did not know many people. Being that my new job required me to travel 75-80% of the time, I had a hard time meeting people. Soooo, I decided to join a dating website to see if I could find someone to hang out with. Despite not meeting anyone off the site, I did have a short conversation with a girl named Cynthia. We talked for a few days, added each other on Facebook, but nothing further. Soon, we were just Facebook friends that never talked. That was 2 1/2 years ago. In April 2013, I went to CareNow Urgent Care for a check-up. After meeting with the physician, I was told to check out at the front counter. There was a beautiful young lady working up front and all I could think was "I look like I've been hit by a train"! While paying out, I realized this girl looked familiar and her name matched who I though she might be. Instead of speaking up and making conversation (mostly because of how horrible I "thought" I looked), I paid and left. Two hours later, I got a Facebook message from Cynthia saying she thought I had just come in to her work. We continued talking, went on our first date 3 days later (a date that Cynthia will call her best date ever), and the rest is HISTORY!!! WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!

My mom contacted me with a great idea back in late June/early July. My birthday was coming up in August and I usually take myself on a trip somewhere out of the state, meaning I rarely see my family on my birthday.  She suggested that she contact Cynthia and have her surprise me with Texas Rangers tickets and invite my family to be at the game. I then contacted the Texas Rangers and set up a proposal that would take place on the jumbo tron between innings. Finally, August 20th came and I was "surprised" with Texas Rangers tickets for that evening. I put on my best surprised act and couldn't wait to flip the surprise on her that night. She suggested we go eat at On The Border by the ballpark before the game. Once we got there, my whole family plus Cynthia's mom and sister were there. Again, I put on my best surprised face since I already knew what was going on. We got to the game and at that point it was time to play the waiting game until the 7th inning stretch. The time came, and my heart began racing. Rangers Captain (mascot) came and stood Cynthia up. She thought this was a birthday celebration thing for me and she told me, "Stand up babe, it's for your birthday", but it definitely wasn't! She realized what was happening and was in COMPLETE shock! Honestly, you just have to see it for yourself!

We will tie the knot on August 23rd, 2014. We have such a fun wedding in place for the biggest day of our lives. We have chosen the Zilker Park Clubhouse in downtown Austin Texas as our venue. We cannot wait to celebrate with our closest family and friends!
